Avisto, Gray Team forum moderator and personal Xbox Live friend, interviewed me on MSN today regarding some of the things in Gray Team. Check out what we discussed.

Avisto: Is the series based around 1 of the androids more than the others or is it pretty much equal?
A10M1C: The series revolves around one androids in specific, A24, he was my Halo "character" since Halo one and since then I have had this back-story planned for him, but never acted on it. Then I learned about Machinima's and decided to work on it. But, he is the one who is quiet the majority of the time, the others share the spotlight with their primary programmed talents.
Avisto: So, sense the androids use brains of fallen soldiers, are any flashbacks going to take place or etc?
A10M1C: I did think about that, but yes, in a sense. Character development and adaptations will cause them to become more, human-like. But that idea has crossed my mind so don't think it won't happen.
Avisto: Whats the period in between episodes releases going to be around roughly. We've been waiting like 3 weeks for a trailer.
A10M1C: Well that is unsure, I have started recording video for episode one and already have all of the audio, but unlike digitalph33r, I have multiple people doing voices. This means i have to wait for the voice actor to record and sends the line, plus more time if they have to redo a line. As far as the trailer goes, our old camera man *cough*Gabe*cough* was always tied up when it came to filming. Luckily I have a Capture Device so I can definitely speed up the process myself.
Avisto: Ok out of curiosity what kind of bands and etc are you going to be using throughout the series? Jon uses muse and a lot of daft punk in his videos. What do you have in mind for gray team. And what music do you have behind the trailer if you have music?
A10M1C: Well, It differs. I plan on using dramatic orchestral pieces such as Gears of War pieces. The trailer in particular consists of a Pirates of the Caribbean number with a Vocal overlay from one of the voice actors. This has been completed for quite some time now. There is one song in particular from the artist Sara Bareilles that I do plan on using in one particular scene in the Machinima, but you will have to wait for that.
Avisto: Is there going to be any references to any other popular machinima in Gray team?
A10M1C: Actually, I do have something planned and have sent someone an email regarding it, I didn't get a response but I plan on getting one once the Machinima becomes popular.
Avisto: Will gray teams plot be solid and straightforward as the series progresses or will we find that it introduces numerous twists and turns as we go along?
A10M1C: Well what kind of writer would I be if I didn't have some plot twists here and there?
Avisto: What about maps? I guess you are using a wide variety of them, so did you forge nearly everything or do some scenes still use the default traits
A10M1C: So far, the two maps that are being used, where both custom forged. It really depends on the scene but I will more than likely forge everything myself.
Avisto: Approximately how many cast and crew members do you have working on gray team and things which it is associated with. Are you going to allow this number to grow with its popularity or try to keep crew down to a small squad of people?
A10M1C: So far, our Voice actors are different. Of course they had to go through an audition process to get the part. Body actors are currently whoever is on, unless I do it locally, but once we progress this will change as well. Crew members consist of Nightbreak doing video editing and I doing the writing, directing, project organization, and filming. I would personally like the crew to be minimal, but it depends really on the skill.
Avisto: What is your favorite aspect of creating the machinima? From editing to brainstorming ideas
A10M1C: I think, character design actually. That and writing the actual script. The audition process is crazy, some extremely good pieces of vocal auditions, and some . . . bad.
Avisto: If gray team turns out as a huge success, what would you like to work on afterwards? Another machinima dealing with things scarcely mentioned in the Halo universe or do you think you will go in a different direction with comedy themed machinima?
A10M1C: I can't honestly say, I mean I am for sure going to do more Machinima's but I don't know about the comedy area. I am very comedic in real life but writing it is a different story. Guess I have to wait and see.
Avisto: What other machinima's did you have in mind instead of gray team that just didn't make the cut when it came down to it? Or was gray team the only one?
A10M1C: Gray Team was definitely not the only one. I was actually working as a writer for the Machinima entitled L33t Force by Waterwork Productions, but I didn't like the progress there so I left and decided to work on Gray Team. Which, we have already caught up, if not passed there work. Oh and by the way, it was a comedy.
Avisto: Ok. Best blog post evar
